Do you have room in your bed and your heart for the ultimate Snuggle Hound? Then Summer is your girl! This girl will snuggle her way into your world and convince you to take her along on the adventure of a lifetime.
Do you have a dog already in your life? No worries. Summer wants one of those too! She loves all dogs big and small, and in her current foster home she’s lucky enough to have not one but three!! The more the merrier for this party girl. In fact having a playmate is helpful to give her an outlet for her youthful bubbly energy. She’s done great with dogs of all sizes as long as they are playful!
No dog…. no problem!! Just promise summer you will buy her all the chewy things and take her to explore the great outdoors. There is nothing Summer loves more in this world than to sniff her way around the garden, woods or even just a small patch of grass! She’d love to join in on camping trips and hikes with her crew.
No walk today? Ok no worries, Summer is just as happy with a backyard to enjoy and someone to play tug with.
If kids are part of the mix, no stress! Summer has shown to be sweet and gentle with dog-savvy children. She shares well and is a great sized playmate. Her only request is they are big enough to help work on her training as she is still learning how us humans like things. We are able to consider homes with kids aged 10 or older.
Summer is crate trained and understands you might need to work too! She is most active the first few hours of the morning so all she asks is for a bit of time together before you start your day, or she will sing a sad hound song when you first crate her. Detached housing with space for her to play and occasionally allow her inner voice to be heard is required.
Do you like nice clean counters? But a floor plan including lots of room for toys? Perfect! This is where Summer can truly shine, because temptation is hard sometimes for a younger girl.

- Special considerations: Summer has one outstanding vet appointment that adopters must be willing to bring her to in Ottawa West. After this appointment, adopters can take her to the vet of their choice. Our dogs are not candidates for dog parks or off-leash walking trails, so if these are important for you, please do not apply.
