Meet Little Miss Mary!
Mary is sugar and spice and everything nice!
The Sugar: Mary is just a tiny girl at 12lbs and she has the personality to match – she will make you laugh every day with her adorable face and her fun demeanour that’s up for anything (although her favourite thing is to have a stuffy almost as big as her to carry around and destroy!). She loves snuggles and being in your arms. Mary is also absolutely wonderful in the car, she loves car rides! She is very devoted to her humans and loves to be nearby for all the fun, but Mary is also crate trained and is ok in her crate for a workday. Mary loves the snow! She loves eating it, playing in it, diving in it…!
The Spice: Mary is just a tiny girl at 5kg (12lbs) and she has the personality to match – she has her spicy moments and when she is riled up, isn’t afraid to “talk back” (with tail wagging a mile a minute!) in typical chihuahua style. She is easily calmed down and refocuses quickly, though. Mary is also working on her nipping when she gets too excited, so older kids with dog experience would be best for Mary. Because of her spicy side, she can be intimidated by bigger dogs approaching her too quickly so she would need someone to advocate for her space in those kinds of situations.
Mary currently lives with foster dog siblings and loves other dogs that can tolerate her “in-your-face” style of play. Mary has a grade 1 heart murmur that has been checked by EKG and requires no medication, just monitoring through her life in case of any changes.

She is looking for a home in the Ottawa/Gatineau area who can attend outstanding vet appointments at our vet in West Ottawa to complete the outstanding vetting. None of our dogs are candidates for dog parks so if these are important to you, please do not apply.
