Attention experienced hound lovers! Dolton, this handsome and affectionate boy is ready to find his forever home, and he can’t wait to shower his new family with love and attention. Dolton is a sweet-natured dog who loves nothing more than cuddling up with his people for a good snuggle. When meeting new people he does tend to jump and bark, but he’s working on his manners and improving every day.
Dolton is a smart pup who loves to learn, and he’s always eager to please. He responds well to positive reinforcement and is a quick learner when given structure and consistency.
Dolton did live a female dog previously and did do well, all though he requires slow and controlled introductions. He is reactive while on leash towards other dogs, and sometimes people, when on walks but his foster is currently working with a trainer and this behaviour is improving! His adoption fee will include two sessions with the trainer he is currently working with, and his adoptive family must complete these sessions so that Dolton is set up for success. He does have some anxiety, but a consistent schedule has helped manage this. With patience and consistency, Dolton will thrive in a home that provides him with the structure and boundaries he needs.
