Gracelyn
Gracie is a sensitive, sweet and affectionate girl. She takes a little while to warm up to strangers but very quickly becomes a loving girl once comfortable. When meeting new people or dogs, she likes to take it slow, and at her own pace. She could live with another dog of similar or smaller size, or could be an only dog since she also enjoys playing independently. She would make a great office dog, lounging in her bed while you work.
She loves to follow her people around the home, being a little shadow. She loves to cuddle and get belly and neck rubs. She is very easy-going and up for anything, including going on a hike or hanging out on the couch, as long as she can be part of the activity. She is non-destructive, polite, and saves her barks for the big moments like spotting a squirrel.
Gracelyn is house trained and crate trained, and can be left for the odd full work day, though we hope this is not something she has to do too often. She does briefly cry when left alone but settles quickly. She is a smart girl who knows how to sit and come when called. She knows the word outside but will also hang out around the door when she needs to go. She understands “anti-tripping humans” commands such as get out or move. She is not very food motivated and prefers cuddles and pets as a reward.
Gracie loves to chase squirrels and birds. She likes to play fetch, tug-o-war and chew her bones. She likes to go get every toy from her bin and spread them around the room, playing with each for a few minutes before moving on to the next. She loves running around outside and bunny hopping in the snow which is why we would love to see her end up in a home with a safe fenced yard where she can hop to her heart’s content! Once tuckered out, you can find little Gracie lying in the sun.
Gracelyn would make a great jogging partner, but make sure you schedule in some lazy Sundays too! Gracie does great in the car, and likes to watch the road from the window. lovingly referred to as silly wiggly piggly by her foster family because she greets them with full body tail-wags and tippy tappies with her front paws. How could you not fall in love with this girl?
