Harvey

Calling all Border Collie lovers, Dog sport enthusiasts and Active Families! Introducing Harvey! The sweetest boy with lots of energy! Harvey is a wonderful boy and true to his breed he is smart, active and playful.

Harvey loves long walks, playing with other dogs and especially his people! He is sweet and gentle, loving and affectionate and would very much love a home with a big yard for him to run and play with a dog friend.

Harvey attaches very quickly to his human companions and because of this he struggles with being left alone. His foster dad has worked very hard on this with him and although Harvey is getting better he requires a committed home that will continue to work on this with him. Having another dog friend in the home may help him feel less lonely but for now Harvey takes a low cost medication to help him manage his anxiety. He would benefit from a home with someone home more often.

This boy is SMART! He has even figured out how to free himself from his crate while his foster dad is at work so we would recommend a strong crate with extra locking mechanisms while he adjusts to his new home.

Harvey would LOVE a home that is interested in dog sports, hiking, being outside and long walks. Potential applicants who are interested in continuing obedience training, agility/dog sports will be prioritized as this handsome boy would thrive in these environments!  Although Harvey is active and playful, he is also so sweet, affectionate and cuddly. He would love someone who is just as willing to cuddle up on the couch after a long walk or play session!

Harvey has not lived with children but has met a few while in his foster home. Younger kids can make him nervous but he has done well with proper and slow introductions with children who are dog savvy and respect his boundaries. Harvey loves all adult humans that he meets and is gentle in his interactions. He loves to give kisses and cuddles.

Harvey is always up for an adventure and loves to go on car rides! He would love to go with you on hikes and any outdoor excursion!

Harvey is a special boy who is looking for a special home. He might need a bit more work, exercise and mental stimulation than some dogs but we promise he’s worth it! He will pay you back in so much love, laughter and silliness! We would be so happy to see Harvey find the right forever home and adventure buddy! Could this be you?
