Lucy is a sweet and shy girl that needs a calm home and patient family. Lucy is an only dog in her current foster home and her foster parents love her to pieces, but they know her happiest home would be one with at least one other playful dog. She loves to play catch and is pretty good at bringing the ball back so you can throw it again. On leash, she flattens to the ground if there are loud noises when walked without another dog, which is why the freedom to play in a fenced in safe space will allow her to have stress-free outdoor time!
Lucy takes time to warm up to adult humans and takes to gentle/calm kids a bit quicker. Loud people/noises can be scary to her. When scared, she will look for a trusted human to reassure her and to snuggle with.
She is crate trained and loves her crate and is almost fully house trained. Of course, accidents may occur while she gets comfortable in a new environment. This girl has so much potential and is looking for an owner that will give her time and patience to continue to shine. She is such a sweet and gentle girl, she will make an amazing addition to an easy going, dog-loving, dog-cuddling and very lucky family!

- Kids: Yes to dog savvy and respectful kids. While she can be nervous at first, gentle play and cuddle time with kids is something she loves and warms us to quickly.
- Housing: Any with direct access to a fenced in yard space. Lucy has recently found her voice and uses it to warn of the dangers of squirrels and chipmunks!
- Fenced yard: Required. She prefers the tranquility of a trail walk so a fenced in backyard is necessary for those days when a trail walk can't happen.
- Special: We are seeking a home in the Ottawa/Gatineau area, willing to travel to Ottawa to continue her outstanding standard vet care needs at our vet clinic.
