Marvin

Marvin is a friendly, curious, and playful puppy with a touch of mischief thrown in. His daily routine is: Play, eat, nap, repeat. Favourite activities include wrestling with his brother, sniffing around the backyard, figuring out how to get the treats out of his treat ball, and snoozing in his bed. He is generally pretty quiet unless he and his brother are engaged in a particularly intense wrestling match.

He sleeps 7 hours most nights and keeps his crate clean.  He goes to bed at night without complaint. He is working on his house training. He would love to have another dog in the home but he could also be an only dog as long as he has plenty of opportunities to meet and play with other dogs in order to build healthy socialization skills. Any other dog in the home would have to be tolerant of puppy antics. Marvin takes direction from older dogs well but likes to be in their face and occasionally has to be reminded to respect their space. Marvin loves to eat and is a fast learner. He currently knows sit, comes when called and gets into his crate at meal time. He would be a puppy kindergarten all star!

Daytime crate training is a work in progress. He goes into his crate without issue provided he has his favourite treat. Once the treat runs out, he doesn’t want to stay alone in his crate. He is building up the amount of time he will stay without crying and will continue to improve with practice. As such, as he builds his confidence and independence he will require someone home much of the time in the early weeks in his new home.

He is currently taking short walks close to home and is well behaved on leash although still quite nervous.  His new family will have to be patient, continuing to take baby steps until he is comfortable away from the safety of his home turf. Evenings are Marvin’s time to chill. After dinner and a quick play session outside, he likes to snuggle on the couch with his favourite chew toy and person. Marvin would be a wonderful addition to any fun loving, active, nurturing home.
