Thomas

If you’re looking for a shadow dog, look no further than Thomas! This spunky little dude loves nothing more than spending time with his people and has an endless supply of company, cuddles and kisses to offer. While he loves all humans, he sometimes gets quite excited and may knock over young kids when playing. He is small but mighty! He has also shown some resource guarding with food and toys so older kids who will respect his space in the home are required.

Thomas is house and crate trained, and thrives on consistency and routine. He can be crated for 5 hours during the day if persuaded with a yummy treat, and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. Thomas is not destructive in his crate but will bark and pout when left alone so a home where barking is okay, such as a country home or single family home, is required (no apartments, condos, or townhomes please). He would do best in a calmer, quieter neighbourhood. Thomas would make a great working from home dog, keeping to himself except for the occasional hello, and is not destructive when relaxing close by his people. He is also a very good boy in the car!

Thomas is a true scavenger and is always on the lookout for any food available to him. He needs some assistance to slow down his eating, and a  kibble dispensing ball or scatter feeding has proven to be effective. Thomas is selective with other dogs but enjoys running and playing with a friendly, non-intimidating furry pal. He would also be happy as an only pet, so long as he gets to spend lots of time with his people! Thomas loves his walks and would like to continue to work on his leash manners with his new family. He is a smart boy, very food-motivated and would benefit from obedience classes. A family committed to loving him with structure and routine would be perfect for him!
