Have you met Sally?
You might have seen Sally featured on our recent Valentine’s Day mini-Photo Session poster with Leslie Yeow Photography, and so we wanted to tell you a bit about her back story. Don’t worry there is a happy ending!
There are times where we meet a dog, and we just know they are so thankful we were the ones who walked through that door. Sadly, Sally’s story is one that left us feeling haunted.
In a city with resources a phone call, or a mouse click away, there is no excuse for leaving 2 dogs abandoned in an apartment for possibly weeks. We won’t lie, when Sally and her doggy companion were both finally found, they were so emaciated you can count each and every bone on their bodies.
Their story was so shocking that it was featured on CBC Ottawa, and we hope that it shed some light on animal abuse and neglect. If nothing else, it at least makes people aware of the importance of rescues.
When we walked in the door, she immediately stole our hearts. Sure, a human neglected her to the brink of death, but she sure as heck did not hold a grudge!
This gal came into our care over a year ago and we promised to make her life full again. Sally wiggles her bum when you call her name, and loves her foster doggy friends too. This strong-willed 12 year old whippet/bully mix (adoptable in ON) has overcome such an obstacle, it’s time to find her a happy ending.
We’ve promised her a happily ever after with us. We believe there is a home out there that will be perfect for her. If you are interested in Sally please email adopt@sitwithme.ca and let’s make a match!
