Pups in the Park: Sit With Me turns 4!
On Sunday, August 14th, Sit With Me Dog Rescue celebrated their 4th birthday in style with a fun carnival for dogs and humans in Laroche Park.
Although this was a birthday party- complete with cake for the dogs- it was also a fundraiser that helped raise over $1,000 for the rescue through games like hot dog bobbing, a rummage sale, agility fun and paw prints.
Sit With Me’s many adoptable dogs were also there strutting their stuff with three lucky pooches – Cara, Pepita and Goose- all getting applications. All three are now in their forever homes!
This was the 2nd year the Sit With Me Annual Picnic was held in Laroche Park and we are looking forward to having an even bigger party next year to celebrate our 5th birthday! “Laroche Park is a great spot to have our Annual Picnic”, says Sit With Me Chair and local resident Shelley Callaghan. “There are great open spaces for vendors and games as well as the water park and playground for families. Next year we can’t wait to spread the word earlier and work with the local community associations to have even more dogs and their humans attend.”
